John J. Husson, Esq.
VARIED AND DIVERSE MILITARY AND CIVILIAN EXPERIENCE DRIVE AND INFORM ATTORNEY HUSSON’S APPROACH TO THE PRACTICE OF LAW
The father of three grown children and the proud grandfather of three energetic grandsons, John — a family man — brings compassion and a parent’s sensitivity to the complex and emotional process of assisted reproduction law. Constantly improving as a lawyer, John is driven primarily by his passion and desire to help others, often on a pro bono basis. He has received several pro bono awards from the Colorado Supreme Court. He continues to expand his knowledge and experience in ART law and Trusts and Estates law and other areas of law in his private practice. John is friendly and easy to talk to, and has the analytical mind and orientation to detail that the practice of law demands. John enjoys cycling, hiking, snow shoeing, skiing, working out (usually on a stair climber), movies, reading and foreign languages. John attributes his love for travel to two years in his early twenties as a Merchant Marine officer onboard U.S. flag cargo vessels which sailed to ports in the Caribbean and west coast of South America. After his two years of service in the U.S. Merchant Marine he subsequently spent five years of active duty as an officer in the Army.
John received his Juris Doctor law degree from The University of Denver College of Law, a Master of Science Degree in Healthcare Administration from Trinity University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Romance Languages from Rutgers University. Prior to establishing his private practice in 2002, John spent 20 years as in-house counsel for large healthcare delivery systems and five years active duty in the U.S. Army, Judge Advocate General’s Corps (JAGC). Born and raised on the New Jersey shore of the East Coast, John moved to Colorado from Pennsylvania where he was Senior Legal Counsel for 12 years with a large academic medical center based in Pittsburgh. John calls Colorado home but travels to the east coast regularly to visit friends and family. John was admitted to practice by examination in both Colorado and Illinois. While in law school, John completed an internship at the United States Attorney’s Office. He also worked part time to pay his way thru law school. While stationed at Fort Gordon Hospital, Attorney Husson served as legal counsel to the U.S. Army Physical Evaluation Board which was responsible for the separation and medical retirements of hundreds of active duty soldiers injured in combat in Viet Nam. The PEB consisted of four senior active duty officers in the U.S. Army to whom Attorney Husson reported as a young Captain.
